Building Care Specialist-Practicum Position



Title: Building Care Specialist-Practicum Student

Reports to: Operations Manager



Position Overview

Behavioral Health Interventions of Greater St. Louis is seeking an energetic, diligent, self-motivated and articulate team player to join its staff as a Building Care Specialist.
This position offers the opportunity to participate in a broad range of program operations as part of a professional, team-oriented organization.

The Building Care Specialist reports directly to the Operations Manager. The Building Specialist will play a supportive-on role in the organization's day-to-day administration, working in close partnership with the organization's executive director and and the rest of the administrative team to carry out and manage the billing functions of the organization's activities to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.

The role involves direct involvement in the administrative oversight of processes at such pertains to the organization's, compliance and navigation of Building Care Specialist practices which includes, but is not limited to ; serving as a technical and professional resource to the organization and with executive director oversight responsibility for Building Care Specialist practices of the organization including but not limited to the engagement of state, federal, and other program licensing/certification compliance,and communications related to Building Care Specialist practices.

Applicants who have previous Building Care Specialist experience as a credentialed practitioner as it regards direct-clinical care, multi-program administration, and communications experience are preferred. A solid understanding of Building Care Specialist responsibilites and related tasks and strategies is a requirement.
The position will begin mid-summer 2022 to assist the organization's president/CEO with specific tasks, which include creating/updating the billing administration portion of employee manuals and handbooks, event planning,transition correspondence, publication management and special projects related to Counseling, Therapy, and other related responsibilities. Details of responsibilites to be further defined upon hire. In 2022 and beyond, the role will be expanded as described. The Building Care Specialist reports to the Operations Manager




Scope of Responsibilities



  • Washes windows and mirrors.


  • Takes out the trash and recycling.


  • Wipes down and sanitizes surfaces.


  • Cleans, sanitizes, and stocks restrooms.


  • Handles leaf and snow removal as needed.


  • Follows instructions from the head janitor.


  • Sweeps, mops, polishes, and vacuums floors.


  • Mows lawns, waters plants, and removes litter.


  • Uses common cleaning tools and outdoor power equipment.


  • Organizes the janitor closet and stores all supplies and tools.


  • Completes minor repairs, like switching lightbulbs and unclogging toilets.


  • Notifies the head janitor when major repairs are needed.


  • Fills out janitorial checklists at the end of every shift.


  • Locks the doors at the end of night shifts.


  • Follows safety rules and precautions.


  • Adheres to company policies and procedures.


  • Desired Qualifications

  • Currently posess or ability to obtain Certification from appropriate training program in the state of Missouri

  • 3-5 years of extensive building care experience.

  • Works well independently and has strong time management skills..


  • Follows written and verbal instructions from the head janitor.


  • Collaborates with other janitors and maintenance workers as needed.


  • Ability to work proficiently with minimal supervision.


  • Strong communication skills


  • Strong familiarity with building care procedures, supplies, and equipment


  • Handles the physical demands of the job, including standing and walking for most of the shift, bending,


  • Basic report reading & writing skills


  • climbing, and lifting at least 50 pounds.


  • Organization, attention to detail, productivity, and dependability


  • Ability to multitask



  • Experience in direct capacity of a Building Care Specialist preferably in a high volume activity setting
  • .
  • Knowledge of best practices legal, as well as state and federal regulatory requirements for OSHA and other state and federal ordinaces.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Clinical Environment Management software and familiarity with specific evidence-based interventions, including preparation of data displays and reports.

  • Salary and Application Information


    Salary range is $25,500-$31,000 FTE, depending on qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits include health, dental and 401(k) retirement plan. Position begins as soon as possible.
